Performance Director – Paid Search

The Search team at comprises of 20 experts managing Search activity on a global scale across Google Search, Bing Search and Amazon Marketing Services. Not only is this team responsible for the strategic planning and buying of Search advertising for our own office, but we also lead the EMEA hub to instil best practices, training and new innovations across the region. This involves working across multiple teams, clients and regions to drive the best performance for our clients, and ultimately for  the agency.

 

You will be directly responsible for line managing a team of 5 or 6, including both direct and indirect reports. You will be responsible for overseeing and delivering the strategy for a number of clients

 

The Search team forms part of a wider Performance Team, comprising of Paid Social, Display & Programmatic, and Affiliate & Lead Gen experts, who together with the client team build cutting edge, compelling and successful strategies to continue to grow our clients. We are moving towards cross-channel Directors, so you will learn these channels and in time be responsible for overseeing and delivering cross-channel strategy for your clients.

 

 

Skills/Technical Capabilities

 

You will need to have a solid understanding of the basic principles within all paid for digital channels (Display, Affiliates, Search, Social).

 

You will need to have an understanding of the Ad-Tech ecosystem with a particular focus on delivery of creative message and tracking via an adserver

 

You will need to have a understanding of analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Adobe Omniture

 

You will have experience planning digital campaigns across paid for channels and an understanding of audience generation/selection (via 3rd parties) or collection (via adserver/pixel/DMP etc)

 

You will have an understanding of the role of publishers and/or technology platforms widely used across paid for digital media  channels

 

You will have an in depth understanding of KPI selection within paid for digital media channels

 

You will have an understanding of bid management platforms and how they can help optimise within channel

 

You will have experience managing people and developing their careers through an in-depth learning program.

 

You will have experience activating media and therefore an understanding of best practice across campaign setup, QA, reporting, insight generation and finance

 

You will have an understanding of brand safety and fraud prevention techniques

 

You will own the media plan for performance channels – challenging the client/client team where required and managing the team to deliver strategic excellence, effective testing and operationally viable output

 

You will ensure the relevant team members across your team engaged and delivering the highest possible quality of work.

 

You will understand your clients’ priorities and challenges and make sure that the work delivered by the team meets these objectives.

 

You will have regular contact with our clients (internal or external), working with the client teams to manage expectations and ensure our clients have a full understanding of our performance offering and our insights

 

Great client service is obviously essential, but you must also protect your team against unreasonable demands on their time.
